The municipality of the region: The Eastern region is a promising front for investment and contributes 60% of the gross domestic product
The Undersecretary of the Secretary for Investments in the Eastern Province Municipality, Engineer Hamdan Al-Balawi, confirmed that the eastern region is a promising interface for investment, as it contributes with 60% of the national GDP, and comes in second place as the highest living income for families in the Kingdom, as it is the lowest in unemployment rates from Among the regions of the Kingdom, at least 2.7 million tourists visit it annually, pointing out that it is a young region, as the youth in its population reaches about 38%.
Al-Balawi said, during the meeting held by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Business Youth Council on the first Thursday of April 30, 2020, through the application "Zoom", and it was titled (the role of the Eastern Region Secretariat in supporting entrepreneurship), that the eastern region is making great progress towards keeping pace with the goals and aspirations of the vision. To develop its services and reduce procedures in front of investors, pointing out that it is a promising area for investments, especially in the local tourism, entertainment and hospitality sectors, the agriculture and fishing sectors, logistics and transportation, as well as other manufacturing sectors such as the pharmaceutical, machinery and equipment sector.
Al-Balawi pointed out the initiative of the 15,000 investment opportunities launched by the secretariat with the beginning of the current year, and through which it has compiled all the proposed, untapped, expired and unfinished investment assets to be offered over a period of 4 years at a rate of 4000 investment opportunities every year.
Al-Balawi reviewed a set of investments that the region is witnessing, such as the recreational commercial project for generations of the Boulevard, in Dhahran City, which is located on an area of 37.309 square meters, the Fish Market Project, the Central Awamiya Project, the Abdullah Al-Hadari Center Project, and other investment projects that will have a significant impact in achieving The goals of the Municipality in the eastern region and achieving its distinction.
Al-Balawi talked about the role that the Secretariat plays in order to stimulate entrepreneurship and improve the quality of life, saying: One of the goals of the Secretariat is to raise the quality of life in line with the Kingdom's 2030 vision, and that it works in more than one direction until it attained an advanced rank in achieving the satisfaction of the population, whether in its regions Civilized or rural, so I aimed to light the roads, pave them and increase the green area, provide an urban structure and preserve the natural environment and appropriate infrastructure, confirming that the Eastern Region Municipality supports residential and services sites and investment services and strives to improve the region and distinguish it, indicating what I got The Secretariat has many awards regarding its goals towards excellence, so the Secretariat has achieved 100% in its contribution index for electronic transformation, as well as at the fourth level out of 168 government agencies.
